Managers of two Dales GP practices have moved to scotch “damaging” rumours the surgeries are closing.
The Central Dales Practice has issued a statement after becoming aware of claims that its centres were to shut.
The statement said: “We have been made aware of a rumour circulating that Hawes and Aysgarth surgeries are closing.
“We have no idea where this has come from or why someone would make this up – it is COMPLETELY UNTRUE.
“Rumours like this can be very damaging and we find it upsetting that someone would want to cause panic in our lovely community.”
Managers have urged the public to “spread the word” that they are “here to stay”.
