Pupils from the Rhythm and Shoes Dance Academy will part in their annual show at the Georgian Theatre Royal at the weekend.
This year’s production is called It’s Showtime At The Big Top.
Dance teacher Louise Richmond said that many of the younger pupils would be performing on stage for the first time.
“There has been much excitement surrounding the performances and costumes,” she said, adding: “We so lucky be able to host our shows at the Georgian Theatre Royal.
“It’s a beautiful venue and many of the pupils frequently visit the venue to watch shows and the annual pantomime, so being able to perform on the stage is magical for them.
“All of the pupils and adult helpers have been working extremely hard to ensure that the show is the best it can possibly be.”
Louise said the pupils were very good at helping each other.
“Our older pupils are absolutely brilliant with the younger ones and the younger pupils watch in awe as our older pupils perform — they really do idolise them.
“It’s lovely to see the pupils come and work together, it’s a brilliant atmosphere especially when you see them all so excited.”
Louise said the circus-themed show featured a mix of different styles of dance, including ballet, tap and modern, contemporary and acrobatic gymnastics.
The show will be staged on Saturday, May 11, with performances at 1pm and 6pm.
