Dance school thanks organisers after star turn at Richmond Christmas Fair

Rhythm and Shoes Dance Academy has praised organisers of this year’s Richmond Christmas Fair after pupils delivered a well-received performance at the event on Sunday.

Director Hazel Richmond said the young dancers had “thoroughly enjoyed” taking to the stage and were delighted to be invited to take part.

“When news is out that our Rhythm and Shoes Dance Academy will be performing on stage, we always draw a large crowd who come along to watch, and we would like to thank everyone for coming out to support us.

“We had some very excited students, some of whom were only six years old and had never performed on a stage before, so we were bursting with pride at how well they danced.”

The appearance rounded off a packed year for the academy, which has taken part in dance exams, professional workshops, pantomimes, performances, and IDTA teacher training with some of the UK’s most renowned dance tutors and choreographers.

As 2025 draws to a close, the school is already looking ahead to a busy 2026. Highlights will include summer shows at The Georgian Theatre Royal and a trip to Darlington Hippodrome to see a touring West End musical.

Enrolment for 2026 is now open, with classes available in Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Street Dance, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Mini Movers, Moo Music, and adult Ballet and Tap at beginner and advanced levels.
