Dance students perform for Wensleydale extra care residents

Pupils from the Upper Dales branches of Janet Seymour’s School of Theatre Dance have performed for residents of two extra care schemes.

Around 40 students aged between three and 17 performed at Kirkwood Hall in Leyburn on December 17.

They then visited Sycamore Hall in Bainbridge on December 23.

The pupils showed off a variety of Christmas dances and solos that they had performed from their recent ballet exams.

Janet said: “The children really enjoyed performing for the residents and were excited to be able to perform again in Bainbridge a week later.

“One of the residents said how lovely it was to see even the tiniest children dancing so beautifully.

“Speaking to the managers afterwards, they are keen to do something similar at Easter time and again next Christmas.”

Beryl Percival, resident at Sycamore Hall, said she thought they were wonderful.
