Danish musicians to perform in Reeth

Andreas and Rune will perform in Swaledale.

A taste of Scandinavia comes to Swaledale later this month when Andreas Tophøj and Rune Barslund perform in Reeth Memorial Hall on Saturday, January 27.

Andreas and Rune are two accomplished young Danish musicians, performing on violin, accordion and viola to produce a sound closely linked to the Danish folk tradition but influenced by music from various countries and traditions.

Inspired by periods living in Ireland and the USA and by encounters with Celtic and Nordic musicians and musical cultures, their repertoire mainly features original compositions and is distinguished by high levels of musical and technical skill as well as captivating ensemble playing.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start and proceeds are for the upkeep of the hall.  Tickets are £12 in advance, £14 on the door, under 16s half price; on sale at Reeth Post Office or contact John Little 01748-884759.
