Darlington singer to perform at Georgian Theatre Royal

Darlington singer and songwriter Hayley McKay is set to bring her unique brand of pop/Americana/country music to Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal on Saturday 3 November at 7.30pm as part of her UK tour.

Hayley has recently played at Glastonbury, Cornbury, Northumberland Live, SummerTyne Americana and Lindisfarne festivals, as well as supporting artists such as Tom Jones, Martha Reeves, Albert Lee, Skip McDonald, Hazel O’Connor and Scouting for Girls.

Whilst having very definitely broken into the national music scene with her highly acclaimed self-titled debut album, Hayley has a strong following in the region and she is keen to acknowledge her Northern roots.

She said: “As much as I enjoy travelling, I always love coming back to perform in the North of England as it gives my friends and family the opportunity to come along to the show.

“This is the first time that I will have performed at The Georgian Theatre Royal.

“It’s such an amazing place with a real sense of history and I’m really looking forward to playing there.”

Hayley’s vocal range and impressive style has already won the support of BBC Radio Two’s Whispering Bob Harris and recent releases have attracted stunning reviews from music critics at The Telegraph, Maverick Magazine and Time Out Magazine.

At the Richmond concert, Hayley and her band will be performing original songs, including Unspoken, The Bottom of My Heart, Chance to Change and Ghosted, as well as popular cover versions.

Tickets cost £13 and are available from the Box Office on 01748 825252 or by visiting www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk
