Dinosaurs will be among the star attractions when the Wensleydale Agricultural Show returns to Leyburn today.
Jurassic Earth will bring a T. Rex, Brontosaurus and Raptor into the Main Ring as part of a packed programme of entertainment at the annual show.
The prehistoric performers will make two appearances during the day, at 11.45am and 3.30pm, with organisers promising a mixture of song, dance, comedy and family entertainment.
Organisers said: “Get ready for a roar-some experience in the Main Ring at Wensleydale Show 2026 because Jurassic Earth is stomping into the arena.”
The performances form part of a busy programme at the show, which takes place in Leyburn today, Saturday, August 29.
As well as the more unusual prehistoric visitors, the event will retain its traditional agricultural roots with classes featuring cattle, sheep and light and heavy horses.
Visitors will also be able to watch carriage driving and sheep dog trials, while vintage tractors and cars will be on display.
Competitions and displays will showcase a range of rural skills and produce, including handicrafts, homecrafts, flowers and vegetables, walking sticks and dry stone walling.
There will also be plenty of entertainment away from the agricultural competitions.
Leyburn Band will provide live music during the day, while terrier racing will offer further action. Younger visitors will be catered for with a children’s fun area and inflatables.
More than 200 trade stands are also expected at the show, offering everything from local produce and countryside goods to crafts and other products.
Organisers said: “Join us for a great day out featuring a variety of attractions.
“With live music from the Leyburn Band, terrier racing, a children’s fun area, inflatables and over 200 trade stands, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
The annual show is one of the biggest dates in Wensleydale’s agricultural calendar, bringing together the farming community while providing a full day of attractions for visitors.
Jurassic Earth will appear in the Main Ring at 11.45am and again at 3.30pm.
