Disabled riding club supporters urged to help raise funds

Richmond & Catterick Group Riding for the Disabled has urged supporters to help boost its funds using PayPal.

By making the charity a favourite on PayPal, each time users make a payment with this method they will have the chance to donate a pound.

Supporters are also being asked to use birthday fundraisers via a personal Facebook page to help raise funds.

Coach Alison Nicholson has raised almost £100 using her Facebook page.

She said: “I logged on to my Facebook page about five weeks prior to my birthday and I got a notification to set this up.

“With a personal message it was very simple and easy to edit whether at the start or when the campaign was running and see pledges from each person.”

Children and adults with varying disabilities ride on Wednesdays and Saturdays with the Richmond & Catterick Group Riding for the Disabled at Catterick Garrison Saddle Club.

Lead group coach Sheri Wild said: “Our Group has running costs of £8,000 per year and is entirely self-funding.

“We depend on the monetary generosity of people so that we can enable our disabled riders to enhance their lives by improving their confidence, communication skills, mobility and importantly our riders have fun.

“This gives two easy ways to raise funds.

“Any amount you can give is very welcome.”

She added: “For those that do not have Facebook, there is a Just Giving page https://justgiving.com/rc-rda.”
