The chairman of Richmondshire District Council has been re-elected for a second year running.

Councillor Clive World has been chair of the authority for the past 12 months – and will continue in the role until May 2022.

He has been a district councillor since 1995 representing the Richmond west ward.

The current vice chairman, Councillor Lorraine Hodgson, who represents the Richmond North ward, was also re-elected for a second term of office.

Both appointments were made at the virtual annual general meeting of the council on Wednesday when members agreed that both the chairman and vice chairman had not had the opportunity to fully represent the area in the last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
