A driver left the scene after a car crashed into a telegraph pole in Barton this morning.
Fire crews from Richmond and Darlington were called to Silver Street, Barton, at 8.47am following reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision.
When firefighters arrived, the driver was no longer at the scene.
Crews made the area safe before removing the damaged telegraph pole from the road to prevent a hazard.
The incident was then handed over to North Yorkshire Police.
