Early music duo to perform at Carperby Village Hall concert

Pelingmans' Saraband.
Wensleydale Concert Series will welcome acclaimed lute and viol duo Pelingmans’ Saraband to Carperby Village Hall this weekend for an evening of Renaissance and Baroque music.

The concert, which starts at 7.30pm on Saturday, July 4, will feature musicians Jacob Heringman and Susanna Pell, who have worked together for 38 years and are both recognised figures in the world of early music.

The duo will perform a programme of 16th and 17th century works by composers including John Dowland, William Byrd and Gottfried Finger.

While most Wensleydale Concert Series performances are held at St Andrew’s Church in Aysgarth, organisers say the recently renovated Carperby Village Hall provides an ideal setting for the more intimate concert.

Tickets cost £18 in advance or £20 on the door, with admission priced at just £1 for under-18s and those in full-time education.

Further information and tickets are available via the Wensleydale Concert Series website.
