Eight wins for Wensleydale Creamery at international awards

The Wensleydale Creamery is celebrating after recording eight wins at this year’s International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA).

Among the awards won by the Hawes company was the Berkel Trophy Best Creamery Territorial cheese for its Yorkshire Wensleydale, which saw the creamery go up against the likes of double Gloucester, red Leicester and Cheshire cheese for the top spot.

Sandra Bell, Wensleydale Creamery’s marketing manager, said: “Being recognised in both the International Cheese and Dairy Awards and at The Great Yorkshire Show is testament to the quality of our products and the skill of our cheesemakers.

“Bringing together producers and retailers from across the world, the awards really put on show the best of the best in the cheese and dairy industry, so to have been recognised in multiple categories is incredible.

“We’re really proud of the whole team that make Yorkshire Wensleydale what it is.”
