An election will take place next month following the death of long-standing councillor John Blackie.
Voters will be asked to fill the vacancies in the Richmondshire District Council’s Hawes, High Abbotside and Upper Swaledale ward and North Yorkshire County Council’s Upper Dales division, which were both held by the long-standing councillor.
The election will be held on October 17.
Nominations close at 4pm on September 20 for anyone wishing to stand for election.
Electors of Hawes, High Abbotside and Upper Swaledale Ward or the Upper Dales County Division have until October 1 to register to vote.
Applications to vote by post must be received by 5pm on October 2 and proxy applications by 5pm on October 9.
