The emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on Bedale Road, Scotton, at around 5.15pm yesterday.
Police, para, paramedics and firefighters from Reeth Fire Station attended the incident.
On the arrival of the firefighters, both drivers were already out of their vehicles and were receiving medical attention.
The crew made the vehicles safe using a hose reel jet and small tools before leaving the scene in the care of the police and ambulance service.
The road was closed while the emergency services worked at the scene.
