Emergency services called after mountain bike crashes in Swaledale

The emergency services were called to the aid of a mountain biker who crashed in Swaledale today.

It is understood the cyclist came off at a cattle grid near the hamlet of Ivelet.

Passers-by stopped to give first aid then assisted Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics when they arrived.

A Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter with doctor on board also attended.

The casualty was assessed at the scene by the doctor but did not require airlifting to hospital.

Police also attended the incident.
