Emergency services called amid concerns for girl at river

The emergency services were called out yesterday amid concerns for a girl.

Ambulance crews and firefighters, including two river rescue crews, were sent to the River Tees at Cleasby, near Darlington, at around 6.25pm.

Water rescue crews from Richmond and Ripon, along with a crew from Darlington, were sent to an area of the river after a report from ambulance of concerns for a young female.

Firefighters arrived to find the female was being assessed by paramedics.

Fire and rescue crews were not required at incident.

The girl’s condition is not yet known.
