The emergency services were called to a serious collision between Richmond and Catterick Garrison this morning.
The incident occurred just before 6am on Longwood Bank.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We’re currently at the scene of a major collision on the A6136 at Longwood Bank, Richmond
“The A6316 road is closed around the Holly Hill Junction and Sandbeck Junction with diversions in place.
“Motorists are advised to please follow an alternative route.”
Firefighters from Richmond and Leyburn crews attended the single vehicle collision.
The male driver was out of the vehicle on their arrival and was treated by ambulance personnel.
Firefighters used a thermal image camera to search the area for any further casualties, with nobody found.
They also stabilised the vehicle and left the incident with police.
