Emergency services called to rescue injured walker in Upper Wensleydale

The emergency services were called to rescue an injured walker in Upper Wensleydale today.

A crew from Yorkshire Ambulance Service togther with a Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter and volunteers from Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team (SMRT) attended the incident near Hawes.

The walker had slipped on steep ground.

SMRT said they were able to respond quickly as they had just finished training.

The patient was treated at the scene by ambulance crews and doctors from SMRT.
