Amateur photographers are being invited to showcase their talent as entries open for the 2026 Yorkshire Dales Photography Competition.

The competition has been launched by The Garden Rooms at Tennants, in partnership with the charity Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, and is encouraging photographers to capture what the Yorkshire Dales means to them.

Organisers are calling for images that celebrate the unique charm of the Dales — from windswept moors and verdant valleys criss-crossed with drystone walls, to traditional farming communities, bustling market towns and local wildlife.

Entrants are encouraged to seek out fresh perspectives, whether by finding a new angle on a familiar scene, heading off the beaten path, or telling a compelling story through photography.

A total of 35 finalists will be selected, with their work showcased in a gallery exhibition running from Monday, June 16 to Saturday, June 28.

Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to vote for their favourite image.

The overall winner, as chosen by the public, will receive a £100 photographic voucher along with a Yorkshire hamper.

In addition, 12 images from the shortlisted 35 will be selected by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust for inclusion in their 2027 calendar.

The closing date for entries is Saturday, April 26.
