The Bedale Point to Point Races are back for a bumper edition on 9th April

The popular North Yorkshire point-to-point promises to be bigger and better than ever as it welcomes the public back for its 75th anniversary edition. An enthusiastic crowd is expected at the beautiful parkland location of Hornby Castle, just five miles from Catterick Garrison, to enjoy thrilling steeple-chasing, new attractions and the Grand National live on the Giant Screen.

New Kids’ Zone – Fun for all the Family

A dedicated Kids’ Zone, featuring a range of activities such as go-karting, pony rides, rugby demonstrations and a bouncy castle, provides a new dimension to the event this year, while a Farmers’ Market will be a popular addition to the usual trade stands and catering facilities.

Clerk of the Course David Ford commented, “We are delighted to be able to welcome back our loyal supporters and racegoers to the Bedale Point to Point Races. The event has long been an important social occasion in the area and this year we are pleased to extend our on-course facilities to include an area dedicated to children’s entertainment, plus a Farmers’ Market to showcase the area’s high-quality local produce. More than ever, a day at the races will be a perfect day out for all the family.”

The Grand National Live on Giant Screen

Six exciting steeplechases are contested during the afternoon, including the £1000 Lowes Financial Management Ladies’ Open Race, and the action culminates with the live broadcast of the famous Aintree Grand National on the Hambro Banking Giant Screen.

Many visitors enjoy picnicking in the car park with friends and family before racing, while the site also offers varied catering options as well as a popular bar.
