Muriel finds life in Porpoise Spit, Australia dull and spends her days alone in her room listening to ABBA and dreaming of her wedding day. A slight problem is she has never had a date. In an attempt to make her dreams become reality she steals some money to go on a tropical vacation, meets a wacky friend, changes her name to Mariel, and turns her world upside down.
Free glass of Prosecco (or soft drink) and canapes before the screening and afterwards a free raffle with a selection of desirable prizes including Abba discs, mugs and locally produced chocolate horseshoes!
Our grateful thanks go to Cinema For All, an organisation dedicated to strengthening the community cinema and film society sector and who have supported this celebration and provided bursaries for all three films we are screening to enable us to make them really special!
