A children’s nursery is raising awareness of mental health by holding a fundraising event in aid of a local charity on Sunday
High Bank Day Nursery recently chose Darlington MIND as its charity of the year and its first fundraiser is a car boot sale to be held at 10am on Sunday, September 1.
The car boot sale will take place in a field at High Bank Farm, on the outskirts of Stapleton. Sellers will be charged £10 a car and it will be £2.50 for shoppers, which includes a bacon sandwich and coffee on arrival.
There will also be refreshments and a raffle, and all proceeds will go to Darlington MIND.
High Bank Manager Hayley Grainger said: “We wanted to do something we haven’t done before for our first event, so the car boot sale will be a first for us.
“We’re hoping for good weather and lots of support from sellers and buyers, who by attending will be helping to raise money for a great local charity which does so much good helping people with mental health problems.”
Entrance to the car boot sale will be from Barton Road and there will be signs directing people to it.
