Hartlepool Art Club was founded more than 70 years ago and has grown to be one of the most respected art clubs in the area, with around 100 professional and amateur artist members. From its earliest days, the Club has recognised and promoted the value of art in the community and has welcomed opportunities to share ideas and encourage participation. Member paintings are regularly displayed in local venues and the Club has lost little of its earlier vibrancy, holding regular monthly meetings, demonstrations and workshops in various mediums, critique evenings, social and art exhibition outings. A thriving Dabble in Art group, organised by Club members and meeting twice a month, is aimed at encouraging young artists in the town.
