An exhibition of oil paintings inspired by the landscape of Teesdale.
Frederic Robineau is well known locally for his creativity in the pastry kitchen of Robineau patisserie in Darlington. But for many years painting landscapes has been the other passion in his life. With The Dales on his doorstep, the subjects are endless.
Walking along a river admiring the view or wandering through a wood surrounded by a carpet of blue bells, for him, is magical. Capturing these moments orchestrated by nature is the inspiration behind his work; freezing them in paint and getting lost in the process.
The northern landscapes are full of these inspiring moments with the changing seasons and ever changing weather, all adding beauty and drama.
Oil paint allows Frederic to create a mix of vibrant colours and as a pastry chef for many years, using a palette knife to build up texture and energy is second nature to him.
Frederic’s work will hopefully bring memories of past visits and evoke feelings of happiness.
