wo Rivers: Two artists who join together to tell the story of the places and people on the banks of the River Swale and Cod Beck. The rivers, flowing from different sources in North Yorkshire, merge together before continuing their journey to the sea.

Rachel Morrell follows the River Swale from the source to the confluence with Cod Beck. She creates textiles and paintings inspired by the colours and shapes of the landscape it passes through. Rachel is particularly interested in the changes people and industry bring to the natural landscape.

Jane Wilson walks along the Cod Beck from its source in the North Yorkshire Moors, through her home town of Thirsk, until it meets and merges with the River Swale. She creates textile based work to map out her journey and raise awareness of the social and environmental context of the river. Jane collaborates with the local community to share their memories and stories of the river.

This exhibition brings together two local artists who met whilst studying for an MA at Leeds Arts University and are now bringing their own unique approach to creating art work in response to the Yorkshire Landscape.
