The Bainbridge, Askrigg and West Burton Federation Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) will host a Christmas Fair at Askrigg Village Hall from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

Entry costs £3 for adults, with under-16s free, and includes a drink and a mince pie.

A range of professional stalls will offer something for everyone, including books, handmade cards, jewellery, papercraft, knitted and crocheted gifts for all, as well as a festive range of hand-sewn goods, glassware, pottery and Christmas decorations.

Homemade cakes, preserves, bacon sandwiches and mulled wine will also be available to ward off the winter chill.

There’ll also be a raffle with prizes kindly donated by stall-holders.

The children of the schools will be running a bric-a-brac stall and the ever-popular chocolate tombola is back! And if you over-indulge on the chocolate tombola, head down the road to Askrigg School and join a working party planting 400 trees along the perimeter of the field – all (gloved) hands very welcome from 10am onwards.

Proceeds from the Christmas fair will go to the newly formed PTFA which now encompasses parents, teachers and friends of all BAWB schools.
