Bookings now being taken for an emergency first aid at work course at the Jonas Centre, in Redmire, on Monday, March 25.
The EFAW course lasts for one day (min of 6 hrs).
Participants must attend the whole course in order to gain certification.
The qualification gained lasts for three years but there is a strong recommendation by HSE that individuals attend annual refresher courses.
The HSE Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require HSE approved first aid at work training to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work Regulations.
This course will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
The course is practical based and will involve practicing first aid skills on the floor.
If anyone is likely to have difficulty doing this then please do let me know in advance of the course. Weather permitting we will practice some scenarios outside. People should wear suitable clothing and bring a warm jacket.
The cost is £60 per person including lunch, refreshments and course materials.
