An exhibition of original feltworks and photographs inspired by rural life and landscapes from a mother and daughter collaborative.
Alison uses her spare time to create artwork. For many years she has enjoyed drawing painting, textiles and photography. Recently she has transferred her drawing and painting skills into felt making – exploring wet felting using a range of wool fibres and silk, then adding detail with needle felting techniques. Inspiration for her work is drawn from wildlife and Yorkshire landscapes.
Rachel is a professional photographer specialising in canine and equine portraits, game shooting and agricultural imagery; providing private commissions and unlimited edition prints. Rachel is often found behind the lens, photographing our four legged friends and creating memories that last forever. She is a true country lady: a farmer’s wife, passionate about field sports, the Yorkshire landscape and the animals within it, all of which comes to the fore in her work.
Exhibiting as a mother and daughter collaborative, their work compliments on another; taking inspiration from shared passions. Alison’s felt creations often develop from Rachel’s photo shoots, thus they produce similar images through different mediums. Felt & Photograph is their first public exhibition together.
