Stitch-in-9 is a group of textile and mixed media artists based in the North East who meet regularly to share their ideas, their work and encourage continuous development of their skills.
The group has a history of successful exhibitions and has previously exhibited at The Station. Their work has been published in a leading textile and embroidery magazine.
The group which currently has twelve members, one of whom lives in France, was originally formed by 9 members who studied for City and Guilds qualifications together. The group, the majority of whom are founding members, positively encourage the inclusion of new members with similar skills and enthusiasm for “stitch” showing that Stitch-in-9 has an important place in the textile art of the North East.
