Les and Sue Knight will host a lichen ‘drop in’ between 2pm and 4pm in the Museum. You will be able see and handle specimens, look at them under a microscope and learn how these slow growing, long lived organisms, formed by a symbiotic partnership between a fungus and an alga, can be used to understand historic air pollution from smelting in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.
2-4pm. Free event but normal Museum admission fees apply.
