The players of Alverton Brass are delighted to announce that the Charity Concert held on 17th May at The Forum, Northallerton raised £2,035.67 for Hambleton FoodShare and the Dales & District Guide Dogs. The need for local food parcels has increased more than 5-fold since 2016 and over 2,000,000 people in the UK have visual impairments.
Representatives from Hambleton FoodShare and the Dales & District Guide Dogs (including dogs in training) attended a rehearsal with Alverton Brass at The Orchards Extra Care Centre, Brompton to celebrate.
The band had its 1st rehearsal in The Orchards in October 2007 and has since gone from strength to strength. It draws from a vast pool of musical experience, not only from the brass band world, but also military bands, dance bands and orchestras. The band does not take part in competitions and mainly concentrates on entertaining concerts raising money for charities either independently or joining forces with other bands and choirs.
Our next public performance is at Saltburn Bandstand on Saturday 26th July at 2:30pm.
