Once we have all boarded the coach sit back and enjoy the scenery as we make our way to Cragside a Victorian country house which was the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectric power. Set in gardens and woodland just outside of Rothbury, Northumberland, it was built and lived in by inventor and innovator Lord Armstrong. He was also the first international arms dealer with many of his weapons being used in conflicts around the world which he used to fund Cragside. Still today the house is crammed with many of Lord Armstrong’s inventions that you can see working during your visit. We will leave early afternoon to make our short journey to the picturesque village town of Rothbury. You will have a few hours here before we board the coach again and make our way home.
Departures include – Leeming Bar, Leyburn. Catterick Garrison, Richmond & Scotch Corner.
Please call 01833 621302 to book your place – a small deposit of £10 per person is necessary to book your places on day trips – £50 for short breaks. This is refundable if we have to cancel the holiday due to low numbers or COVID 19.
