Join our team on September 18 with this popular Yorkshire challenge; you’ll need to be at ‘peak’ fitness but with incredible views and a sense of cameraderie, it’s an unmissable adventure.
Challenge yourself and climb for Hospice Care. This is your chance to take on the 25-mile route including 1500m of ascent and descent and the aim of completing it within 12 hours. Every step you take and every pound you raise in sponsorship will help local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.
Climbing the famous three peaks, you will start with a leg-loosener for three miles up the shape of Inglebroough, then gaining height and taking upwards and across the dales on to Morecambe Bay and the Lakes. Then you will begin on to the second ascent- Whernside. As you descend you will be able to see Ribblehead Viaduct and this is the halfway milestone before heading down the path towards the final peak of Pen-Y-Ghent. Then descending back to Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
This challenge is provided by Large Outdoors who will provide fully trained guides and first aiders on the day. You will be in a team with other Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael’s walkers who will keep your spurred on. We will provide a fundraising pack for all walkers which will include a kit list, FAQ’s and an itinerary. Along the route we will provide treats and refreshments to keep you going strong!
The funds you raise and the inspiration you create whilst having a fantastic experience will support our home care teams on their epic challenge every day during this pandemic to provide care to people in our communities.
