Proposal for huge million sq ft warehouse at Scotch Corner revealed

Plans are being drawn up for a huge new distribution warehouse at Scotch Corner.

Planning documents show Scotch Corner Richmond LLP is preparing an outline application for a warehouse covering a million square feet south of the A6108.

The warehouse would be located opposite the planned Scotch Corner Designer Village and a large garden centre, which the company already has permission for.

A scoping report has been submitted to Richmondshire District Council ahead of the planning application being submitted.

The report states: “The proposal comprises the erection of a single warehouse unit (Use Class B8).

“The facility will include office space for employees, parking facilities, landscaping and access arrangements.

The permission sought will be outline with detailed means of access and therefore the exact specification and appearance of the building will be yet to be defined.”
