Extra patrols after man injured in Catterick Garrison incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to a violent incident in Catterick Garrison.

North Yorkshire Police say were contacted at 10.45pm on Thursday to reports of an attempted robbery in Plumer Road.

A 26-year-old man received a injury to his hand, which was treated at hospital.

It is not thought the injury was serious.

According to reports on social media, a motorist stopped because a person was laid in the road.

Another person then attempted to get into the car and the driver was subsequently injured.

Police say they are investigating the circumstance of the incident.

A spokesman for the force said: “Extra patrols will be carried out in the area to reassure the community and prevent and deter further offences being committed.”
