The new Flat racing season at Catterick Racecourse will get underway this week with a family-focused Easter event.

An Easter Family Day on Wednesday, April 8 will launch a programme of 17 fixtures scheduled at the track throughout 2026.

The opening meeting will feature a seven-race card, alongside a range of free activities for younger visitors. These include Easter-themed games, an egg hunt, face painting, a helter-skelter slide and a bouncy castle, all located within the course enclosure.

A special Golden Egg hunt will also take place, with prizes including an Easter egg and tickets to future family race days later in the year.

Under-18s are admitted free to all race days at Catterick, with additional children’s entertainment planned for four family days and during the summer holidays.

Emma Stevenson, general commercial manager at the racecourse, said the Easter fixture was always a highlight.

“Our Easter Family Day is one of the most enjoyable fixtures of the year and a great way to welcome the next generation of racegoers,” she said.

Gates will open at 12 noon, with the first race scheduled for 2.13pm and the final race at 5.38pm. During the afternoon, awards will also be presented to last season’s leading owner, trainer and jockey.

The Easter meeting marks the start of a busy season at the track, with highlights including a beer festival race day in May, Ladies’ Day, further family fixtures during the summer, and the feature Catterick Dash in October.

Tickets for all 2026 fixtures are now on sale, with advance admission starting from £8 and a range of hospitality packages available.
