Final preparations are underway for the relaunch of the restaurant space at The Station in Richmond.

The Station Café|Bar opens from Saturday and will then be open every day except Christmas Day from 9am to 11pm.

Gareth, former executive chef at The CB Inn,  and his wife, Emma, will take over management of the cafe bar, while the ownership will remain within the Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust, under a separate trading arm known as RPBT Enterprises.

This means that any profits will go back into RBPT projects.

Emma said: “We are both very excited to be given the opportunity to be a part of the re-development of The Station Café|Bar.

“We are looking forward to working alongside The Station and local suppliers to bring a new fresh food offering to Richmond.

“The main emphasis is for all of us to work together to ensure all visitors have an enjoyable experience and indulge in the new menu and refurbished space.”

The cafe space has undergone a full refurbishment, including a brand new kitchen, serving area and bar, seating and decoration.

A new raised area has been installed at the back of the space to be used as relaxed seating or work space during the day, with possibilities for entertainment during the evening.

The managers of the cafe bar are planning to work closely with the Station Cinema to offer food and film events.

The celebrations begin this Saturday with a free family day.

There will be face painters, balloon modelling and magic shows from Jolly Good productions at 11am, 1pm and 2pm.
