Family launches Little Messes Paint a Pot at Colburn Business Park

A new business in Catterick Garrison aims to get the creative juices flowing in people of all ages.

Warren Topley and wife Claudia have launched Little Messes Paint a Pot based on the Colburn Business Park, opposite Premier Meats on Catterick Road.

Warren retires from the British Army this year after 24 years of service.

This story continues after the adverts:

Ahead of his retirement, the couple, who have a young family, looked for a business they could run together and spend quality time with their children.

Warren said: “After originally being posted to Catterick with the Army we have now decided to settle down here. We wanted to start up our own business.

“We wanted to do something as close to a family activity as possible, something that we both enjoy doing and the kids enjoy too.

“We have often felt there wasn’t much to do in the area for people with young families.

“We have always enjoyed painting pots with the children, but you have to travel to Northallerton or Darlington if you want to do it.”

Little Messes Paint a Pot specialises in bisque painting, an activity they say is fun all ages to enjoy. They offer glaze and acrylic paints and have their own kiln on-site.

They also offer foam clay, build a bear and other family activities. Refreshments and snacks, including speciality teas and coffee, are available.

There are also creche facilities for young visitors.

Warren said the business was still a work in progress but they had lots of plans for the future.

These include workshops and prosecco nights for adults.
