A farming family has launched a new luxury dog boarding business designed to provide a home from home experience for pets.
Vicky Gregg, a veterinary nurse and co-owner of the new Wensleydale Woofs venture, said the business was created through a desire to combine professional animal care with the opportunity to diversify the family’s farming operation.
Speaking about the new venture, based at Ellingstring, near Masham, Vicky said her background in veterinary nursing had inspired her to create a boarding environment focused on comfort, wellbeing and individual care for every dog.
She said: “As a registered veterinary nurse, and also lucky enough to live on a farm, we wanted to take that opportunity to diversify our business by adding Wensleydale Woofs alongside our current farming business.
“I have always been passionate about providing the very highest standard of care and comfort for animals.”
The business aims to offer dogs a luxury stay in calming surroundings, with cosy living areas and enrichment features intended like smart TVs to help pets feel relaxed while away from home.
Vicky said the vision was to create more than a traditional kennel setting by combining veterinary expertise with a welcoming atmosphere tailored to each animal’s needs.
“This inspired me to create a luxury dog boarding experience that offers a true ‘home from home’ environment, where every dog feels safe, relaxed, loved, and cared for as an individual,” she said.
“I wanted to create more than just a kennel; I wanted to build a place where owners can have complete peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving exceptional care, attention, and companionship in a safe and welcoming environment.”
