Farm vehicle stolen near Hawes found in Wharfedale

A farm vehicle stolen last week in Wensleydale has turned up in Wharfedale.

The green John Deere Gator was taken overnight between 8.30pm on Monday, February 11 and 8.30am on Tuesday, February 12.

It was taken from Lunds, Hawes.

Police say it has now been found hidden in woodland near Buckden in Wharfedale.

A spokesperson for Richmondshire police, said: “It will be recovered to its owner following forensic examination.

“It is thought that the vehicle had been left there to test whether a tracker had been fitted.

“However, due to wet ground it had become bogged down and hard for the thieves to retrieve.

“It’s always worth keeping an eye out and making a call to 101 should you see any vehicles in odd places.”

Anyone with any information should call 101.

They should give reference number NYP-12190026256.
