Fashion show raises funds for Wensleydale Young Musician Competition

A fashion show in Leyburn has raised funds to support this year’s Wensleydale Young Musician Competition.

The event, organised by Wensleydale Rotary, was held at the Leyburn Arts and Community Centre and attracted a large audience.

Fashions were provided by Puzzle Boutique in Leyburn and modelled by friends and partners of Rotary club members.

Money raised through ticket sales will help fund the Wensleydale Young Musician Competition, which is due to take place in November.

The competition is organised jointly by Wensleydale Rotary and BlueBoxt Creative and Performing Arts, providing young musicians with the opportunity to perform and develop their talents.

Successful competitors can progress through regional heats to the national Rotary Young Musician final.

Wensleydale Rotary Club president Paul Hardcastle said: “It was a very enjoyable evening. We are very grateful to Puzzle Boutique and all our models who did such a good job.

“The Young Musician Competition gives performance opportunities to young musicians. Winners can advance through the regional heats to the national Rotary final.”

Organisers have thanked everyone who attended the fashion show and supported the fundraiser, helping to ensure the annual competition can continue to provide opportunities for aspiring young performers from across Wensleydale.
