
A field fire caused disruption on the A1 this afternoon.
The blaze started in a field between the Catterick Central and Leeming junctions east of Hackforth.
The fire spread to scrub beside the A1 northbound.

Two lanes of the northbound carriageway were closed while firefighters worked at the scene.
Highways England warned of reduced visibility on the other lanes too.
Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to extinguish the fire.
