Three Richmond businesses are celebrating five years of trading in the town’s busy Finkle Street.

The small businesses have marked the anniversary in recognition of the difficulties they have faced in getting established, including the covid pandemic and the financial crisis.

The Little Dress Shop took over what was previously the Dress Agency in 2019.

The shop specialises in preloved occasion wear for events such as proms, weddings, cruise trips, balls and a day at the races.

They also offer designer items such as shoes, handbags, small leather goods, sunglasses and accessories online and in-store.

Owners Helen Newall and Fiona Corrance said they were two ethically minded friends with a passion for sustainable fashion and pre-loved goods, who were “proud to be making designer affordable while also making a difference to the planet”.

“We have enjoyed helping our lovely customers over the last five years choose the ideal dress for their special occasion and the perfect designer handbag… we hope we have many more years to come!”

Another shop on the street, Tasty Macs, is also celebrating five years since current owner Ian Rowland-Hill took over.

A shop sells tasty salads, baked potatoes, snacks, Brymor ice cream, confectionery, hot and cold sandwiches, panini and wraps.

They also sell milkshakes, soft drinks and bottled water.

Ian said: “Can’t believe that five years has passed by already.

“We are very lucky in Richmond to have such lovely loyal customers and be a part of the Finkle Street community.”

Granny’s Kitchen started 15 years ago but found their home on Finkle Street 5five  years ago.

Owners Wendy and Mick said: “It was a tough decision taking on a place that had been abandoned for well over 10 years,

“We’ve tweaked it over the past five years and grown with the building, which is over 300 years old so we’re told.

“People can now enjoy good, homely handmade food in a cosy setting. We love our home on Finkle Street.”
