A fire broke out in a residential flat above the Cover Bridge Inn near East Witton this afternoon.
Emergency services were called at around 12pm, with crews from Masham and Bedale fire stations attending the incident.
Firefighters used a roof ladder and a triple extension ladder to access the property and extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet.
Crews also deployed a hearth kit, thermal imaging camera and small tools to tackle the blaze and check for any remaining hotspots.
