
Firefighters were called to a fire on an embankment at Ribblehead yesterday.
The Reeth crew joined colleagues from Skipton and Bentham after the call-out at 1.23pm.
Working with Network Rail, the trains were stopped while crews extinguished 50 meters of lineside embankment smouldering.
In a separate incident, firefighters from Hawes were called to a single vehicle accident near the town at 12.55pm.
Crews assisted at the scene with traffic management. Nobody was trapped.
Around half an hour later the Hawes crew extinguished a small rubbish fire in the town using a hose reel jet.
The cause was believed to be accidental.
