Firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire in Leyburn after a driver feared their car had caught alight.
Richmond Fire Station attended the incident in Grove Square at about 9.33am today.
After inspecting the vehicle, crews found no signs of a fire. The incident was later identified as a false alarm, believed to have been caused by an overheated or failed engine.
Firefighters made the vehicle safe before leaving the scene.
