Firefighters were called to a domestic property in Middleton Tyas on Wednesday evening after water was reported leaking into the roof of an attached garage.
A crew from Northallerton attended the incident at around 6.10pm, where they found water ingress affecting the garage area of the property.
Crews isolated the water supply, preventing further damage. Following an investigation, firefighters identified a loose copper pipe as the cause of the leak.
Using small tools, the crew carried out a temporary repair and provided advice to the occupant, who has since arranged for a plumber to attend and carry out permanent repairs.
