Firefighters were called to a moorland fire on Barden Moor on Tuesday afternoon.
A crew from Leyburn attended the scene at around 3pm after reports of smoke coming from the area.
On arrival, crews located a fire involving grass and gorse covering approximately 50 metres by 50 metres.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and dampened down six remaining hotspots to prevent it from reigniting.
The incident was later handed over to a responsible person.
