Firefighters were called to a fire outside a house in Colburn last night.
The incident was report at around 11.30pm.
Colburn and Richmond crews attended.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival crews confirmed a small fire confined to a plant pot in the porch area.
“The fire was out on arrival and crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera and completed a ‘safe and well’ visit.”
The fire was started deliberately, the spokesperson added.
Why didn’t the house owners put the fire out themselves instead of calling the fire service if it was a small fire?
I agree with Simon Tate’s comments above, this is not a fire service call. Complete waste of resources and what one would call sheer dramatic. Charge the individual who called and teach them how to use a hose correctly.
