Fire started by youths in Catterick Garrison

A fire in Catterick Garrison was believed to have been started deliberately.

Richmond firefighters were called to Shute Road at about 4.20pm.

They fire in the open was out on their arrival however.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ” This was believed to have been set deliberately by youths.”

In a separate incident, crews from Hawes and Richmond were called to a report of a fire in a kitchen in Swinithwaite at around 1.20pm on Saturday.

This was a fire in an oven.

It was also out on arrival and no action was needed by the fire service.

  1. Language!!!! I’m surprised to see on here! But hope the arsonists were charged. There is not enough deterrent for these idiots.
